in memoriam (the chairs that were on 111th)
me: so last friday i saw a heap of chairs on the side of the road
like an empty dinner party
and was getting out my camera
and some homeless guy started chasing me
so i never got the shot.
Becca: i think that story could make a good post

trash heap on 144th & convent
all of this was outside of a church. i grabbed these on the way out for the night. a couple of men were on the corner having a conversation and it quickly changed to "she's taking pictures of trash!" there was some head shaking and raised eyebrows. it always amazes me the things that will surprise people in new york.

W 10th St and Washington
I was on my way to Uncommon Goods to go retouching when I happened upon this leather treasure hanging out at the bus stop.
It's a pretty genius idea really. You're waiting at the bus stop, you're tired, you want to sit. Why not have a nice leather chair there waiting for you?
Sadly the idea didn't last because the next day, it was gone.

74th and Broadway
I saw this abandoned chair on Broadway over by 74th:
After I pull out my camera, I realize that a man down the block thinks I just took a picture of him. I yell to him that I was just taking a picture of the chair, and he yells back that it's his chair, feel how heavy it is, it's cast-iron, they don't make chairs like that anymore, he'll sell it to me for $100. I don't want to buy this chair, but I go over and talk to the guy and get a pic of him as well.
